Vanessa Bear offers a range of workshops and training for organisations that can be offered to service users, students, pupils or a staff team.

The workshops and trainings described below are suggestions and can be altered to best suit your needs.

Practical Self Care

What

These sessions involve a mixture of experiential practice to develop a robust and meaningful self-care experience and ongoing self-care strategies, as well as a little theory.

Activities include methods from yoga, mindfulness, nature connection, eco-therapy and psychology.

Who

These sessions are ideal for people who:

  • have experienced trauma

  • are in challenging or stressful jobs

  • are experiencing difficulties or challenges in parenting

  • helping professionals

Where

Sessions are best in a space that is big enough for people to move around and have access to quiet outdoor space. Sometimes this is best away from the usual work environment. If you prefer, I can suggest a location.

8 Keys to Safe Trauma Recovery

What

These sessions draw on the 8 Keys to Safe Trauma Recovery Workbook written by Vanessa Bear and Babette Rothschild. They are best with each Key as a separate session, with 1.5 hours for each Key, totaling 12 hours.

The sessions are focused on strategies to recover from trauma and are focused on phases one and three- they do not include reprocessing or retelling trauma stories in any way.

Who

These sessions are ideal for people who:

  • have experienced trauma

  • helping professionals who wish to share these skills with clients

Where

Sessions are best in a space that is big enough for people to move around and have access to quiet outdoor space. If you prefer, I can suggest a location.
